“Every finish line is the start of a new race…”
My friend graduated recently and to celebrate we all went out to eat at the Fifth Floor Restaurant, Harvey Nichols. It’s a fine dining restaurant and very posh! You know when you go out and there are three different forks and spoons and you say to yourself something in the lines of ‘I know the small spoon is for dessert. Right? Right?? (insert wide-eyed look)’.
It was a three course dinner with two options per course. I arrived late so I started from the main course.
I’ve talked about my love-hate relationship with fish before but I had the Pan Fried John Dory. The second option for the main course was New Season Brecon Beacon lamb (Chubby Dija: “That’s a mouthful”).
For dessert, I had the chocolate brownie parfait. The caramel had this bitter taste which I like. Perfect. Ice cream was not creamy enough for me but the caramel made up for it. Once it hit my taste buds, instant happiness. The parfait was smooth and creamy.
The second dessert option was a lemon and meringue tart and I must say, I’m not very impressed with the presentation.
The celebrant was also gifted with complimentary dessert! Nice!
Let’s play a game. What kind of camera was used to take the picture above? 😀
The chocolate was dark with a lovely, gooey centre; I think it was a cherry sauce. The macaron had cocoa and another flavour I couldn’t place.
All in all, it was a lovely night out with family and friends!
